NWS in a Nutshell
The Nutshell Newsletter is posted each month and is a look back at the prior month's happenings. | June 2010 | End of Year Issue As the conclusion of our school year winds down, Nottingham West continues to be active in all aspects of the school. |
| May 2010 | Grandparents/Special Friends Day This day was a huge success this year. Students in Mrs. Semales, Ms. McGivern, Ms. Solari, Ms. McGivern, Mrs. Kolar and Mrs. Cadorettes’s classes enjoyed Grandparents Day on May 27 and 28th First grade students performed on stage for their grandparents followed by a visit to their class rooms. They were treated to a light brunch in the gym while the 4th and 5th grade chorus performed selected songs. Grandparents also received a fun introduction to the public school system with a Powerpoint presentation about Nottingham West and the Life of a First Grader presented by Mr. Durso and Mrs. Beaulieu. |
| Apr 2010 | Eye on Curriculum The weather has been great for Nottingham’s third graders! On April 13, 2010, WMUR Meterorologist, Kevin Skarupa, visited the third grade at Nottingham West School. Mr. Skarupa talked with the students about New Hampshire’s weather, cloud types, weather instruments, and what it is like for him to be a meteorologist who forecasts the weather on TV. |
| Mar 2010 | Read Across America Week Nottingham West has a tradition of dedicating the entire week to honor Dr. Seuss with many different endeavors. Along with the reading activities, contests were offered in which the winners received small tokens of “bravo!” |
